Wendy Vecchi – Day Two!

I had another class with the wonderful Wendy Vecchi today.  It was called STAINED STAMPED STENCILED Art journal…studio 490 style.  What a fun class!  We made a small art journal using Wendy’s “Art Parts”, which is a compressed paper product laser cut into fun shapes.  I learned quite a bit and came home with an adorable journal that still has plenty of room to play in.

Here are the front and back covers:

The front cover was decorated then assembled.  There are some Art Parts pieces cut to look like pencils, scissors and a pen nib.  There is also a star.  We constructed the box and glued the stamped and colored pieces.

The back cover is made with an Art Parts heart, embellished with a scallop and a pencil.

All of the pieces had to be colored, stamped and decorated.  It was lots of fun.  There were 16 of us in class so I got to  meet quite a few new people!  That’s always the icing on the cake for me.

Here are the first two inside pages of the journal:

Wendy taught us how to paint the cool “fern” on the second page.  It was a lot easier than I thought it would be!

It was a loooong day!  I’m exhausted.  But it was totally worth it.  I’ll be lined up to take her classes the next time she rolls into town.  But don’t tell Wendy that.  You might just scare her!
