Today is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. I would like to take a moment to thank all of the people who work so hard to contribute to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
Today I worked…on a painting! Here’s my 2nd face of the month. (click on image to enlarge)
I started this face with one of Jane Davenport’s stencils from Artist Cellar. I want to thank my friend, Cary Cutler Scholes, for her advice on skin tone base. She starts with Acryla Designer Guoache in Flesh. Then adds a little gesso and water until happy with the color. Every little tidbit helps! Where would I be without my friends? I added just the tiniest bit of Quinacridone Magenta Fluid Acrylic to make the blush color. I wasn’t feeling brave enough today to try to shade the face much more than that.
So there you have it. A tribute to the laborers of our country and my second face. It works for me!

She is GORGEOUS! I love the sweet cheeks, and fantabulous job on her eyebrows! You got them just right…mine are always lopsided! I think she’s perfect!
One of my (other) friends had a great suggestion about practicing shading, which is to draw a face you’re happy with and then make photocopies of it…then you can practice, but don’t ‘ruin’ your original awesome face by messing up the shading! It’s infinite do-overs! I can’t say I do that…because I would get bored (and distracted by shiny things), but I still thought it was a really good idea!
Love you my squishy face! ❤ ❤ ❤

Thanks, Sweets!
I LOVE your enthusiam! (I DO have a squishy face…it’s very cute… 😉 )
The reason her eyebrows (and other features) are perfect is because, I cannot tell a lie, I used one of Jane Davenport’s face stencils! Granted, I had to fill it in on my own but that’s why the eyebrows aren’t wonky!
I actually have a face to practice shading on. It was include in my FACEcinating Girls class. I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I’m a bit of a procrastinator. Aren’t ya shocked!?!?!?!?
Love you, too! ❤ ❤ ❤

She has such a sweet innocence. So beautiful. Maybe your style doesn’t mean more shading.

Thanks, Faye! Yes, sometimes I like to keep the clear, clean colors.
